creatine and fat burners
i have been on a weight loss programe for the last 3 months doing interval training and have lost around 2 stone and taken my body fat from 24 to 18%. i leveled off at 80kg so started a new way to attack the fat as i have been told that lean muscle will burn more calories throughout the day. i have now been doing weights for 2 days a week and interval for 2 days. i have been taking Promax diet as my protien supplement and have now decided to start using Creatine to aid the muscle gains and speed up the process. my problem is this, people are saying to me that by using Creatine i will put weight on( and fat ) because when building muscle you need to up the calorie intake. so is it a good idea to take Thermobol as a fat burner to keep burning the fat whilst im building the muscle.
please help with this
thanks

I’m in an almost identical position to you. I was 15 stone 4 (97kg) and got down to 13 stone (82kg) bout 16-18 % bodyfat. Unfortunately, it is true. If trying to increase your muscle mass, you will almost certainly increase bodyfat. I’m about 13 stone, 5 lb’s now and looking to loose fat again.
The only way to really minimise fat gain is to control your diet, and I mean really control your diet. Work out about what you need and try it for a week. If you loose weight, increase it by 500 calories and try again. If you micromanage your calories, you should be able to put 1, maybe 2, lb’s of muscle on a week with minimal increase in fat, but it will always be a cycle of gaining muscle(and fat) then loosing fat. It’s all about diet.
As for supplements, apart from protein, I’d say aren’t worth it. Your effectively trying to do two conflicting things at once. Gain muscle and loose fat, and if Thermobol works(I’m very cynical) then all it will mean is you have to eat more calories as you require a slight excess(300-700 cal per day).
Things will be sped up if you split your goals. 3 weeks gaining muscle, 3 weeks loosing fat(or as long as you need).
