Bulking Up? Weight? Six Pack?
Hi,
Is it possible to bulk up without loosing well defined areas of muscle such as the six-pac?
And if you’re are trying to loose excess body fat around certain areas, will this involve loosing muscle?
What I’m saying is: Is it possible to be big aswell as have a well toned body or is it the body fat that gives you the desired ‘bulk’?

Yes you can bulk up without losing definition in your six pack, provided you eat well and no you will not lose muscle if you lose fat, however, it is easy to lose muscle by accident when trying to lose fat if you do things like cardio on an empty stomach before breakfast.
In answer to your overall question, yes you can be big and defined, and body fat does not add to the bulk.

i dont think its impossible to bulk up without adding some fat or vice versa though it is incredibly difficult. to bulk up you need to increase calories, lift heavy weights and do little cardio, to lose body fat you basically need to do the exact opposite so if you are trying to do both at the same time, progress in either direction will be so slow or even nonexistent. solution? work out in two phases, a bulking up phase then a trimming down (or getting ripped) phase.
in the bulking up phase as mentioned above you will gain alot of muscle but also a little fat, in the trimming down stage you do lots of cardio, lift lighter weights and reduce you calorie intake, you will lose alot of fat but also a little muscle, and your muscles will become more defined.
this is just my opinion, for roughly a year i had been doing both lots of cardio and lots of weights and barely saw any changes, now i’ve cut out the cardio and really upped the calories i’m looking bigger after a matter of weeks
