well i heard that the body can only digest 50g protein each hour but i personally think its unique to the person. eg. a 10year-old would only be able to digest 20g while a full grown body-builder might be able to take in 40g a time. But you'd have to research it to be sure.

I would recommend protein being split evenly throughout the day in small meals for effective absorbtion

Yea, definitely split your protein up during the day. But I have heard something along the lines that there is a limit to how much you can have at once. Remember that the body doesn't store protein like it does fat, so too much will go to waste.

Most of what you hear is hype, but is it dependant on the person as samkd905 said. Your body can digest quite alot of protein at one time like it can with any foods, the only real problem is that it puts extra pressure on your kiddney when consuming stupid ammounts in one go (70g+) and also it depends on the type of protein you are eating, some are more soluable than others. Hope that helps.

I put this exact question on the dorian yates CNP forum, many said that you can take in alot at one time but there must be an upper limit otherwise to get 200 grams in a day,you could eat 100 in two meals etc.thats silly! Theres no hard medical evidence on this apparently but remember excess protein is calorie filled also if not used(its still energy) so loads that aint used can go to fat and you must get alot of water down you to help the kidneys. The usual standard is 1.5 grams to 2 grams per kilo of weight u have, spread in 5/6 meals. Most doctors say that in the U.S alot of men are fat thro' excess protein eating but its how you use it i suppose.Cheers.Good luck.

I have heard u shouldn't consume more than 50g of protein per time and the kidneys could become damaged if u continuously do this.

You don't store protein (or amino acids) therefore you s**t out what you don't digest.
