Can anyone pass on some advice

Hi im 19 and started using weights just over a year ago usually 3-4 times a week for about hour concentrating on different groups for each session. Now however im doing a gap year and have no access to weigths i have though been exercising without weights e.g. press-ups, dips etc.. about 4-5 a week for about 30 mins each day and walking a lot. I started to put muscle on and dont want to lose much for the next few months as i have already lost about 2kg!! can anyone pass on some advice on which exercises are best without weights? and how long i should exercise for? Thanks

Hi there. Depends what you’re training for, but if you’re looking for gains in core strength you may want to give this a look:

I have access to a gym but I am looking to incorporate this in to my routine.

Well incorperating body weight moves is good as its portable; the only limitions is how to increase intensity. Super-sets with different body weight exercises to failure (with each set) is pretty good for maintaining lean mass but if you still want to gain weight then you really do need some kind of resistance as their is only so far you can go with your own weight untill your body will get used to the stimuli. Surely whereever your going you will have access to a gym somewhere along the way, but if not then just use everyday items you can find lying around: rocks, heavy backpack, bottles filled with sand/water etc. You will just have to really variey your workouts and eat real good, hope this helps!
