Training Routines
How long of a period should I do the training routine? I have heard change every 6 weeks a person needs to change. But, how do I know what to change in my training routine?

There is no right or wrong answer to this. I change my routine every 2 months to make sure I am recruiting all availble muscle fibres and so I can achieve maximum growth and most importantly symmetrical growth. Investing in a bodybuilding book or looking on the internet is really the only way to know what to change to your routine, but it could be something like changing dumbbell presses for machine presses or barbell presses, or changing front raises for rear delt laterals, just be creative and find what works for you

I personally look to review my training plan every 12 weeks. If things are still progressing with a particular plan at the end of a 12 week cycle then I don’t change a thing (if it ain’t broke, then why fix it?).
You may, however, want to cycle your intensity once in a while though, to avoid burnout; have a period where you lower the weight you are using a little and go easier on yourself during gym sessions. This avoids burnout in the long run.

Recently I’ve read that you need to change it every 6 workouts. But changes can be simple - add an extra set, take off shoes, alter a grip etc.
