Whey protein - is it stored as fat at certain times of the day?


I am a vegeterian, so to get the protein that I need to grow, I take 5-6 servings of Whey protein (Promax) each day. When discussing the importance of nutrition with a fellow gym user the comment was made that Whey protein is great around training time due to it’s fast absorption qualities, however, when taking Whey protein during other times of the day this fast absorption attribute meant that it’s very easily stored as fat. Any substance to this comment?

    I hope that’s not true. I have 1/2 portion of whey protein with fruit as my mid-morning and mid-afternoons snacks!
