I look weak compared to guys half my size
I go to the gym just 2 times per week for about an hour and half each time, the reason is this is the only time I can include in my schedule, I’m certainly no high city flyer but I do have other commitments and also dont pretend to know everything about trainging, diets (like some do in the gym) but I do try hard and always end up sweating and ususally muscle ache few days later. I am 40yrs old, 6′ 2 or 3″ tall and weigh in at 16 stones dead, I have 2 love handles and a slight beer belly (although I dont drink), flabby chest, I love my food.
When I was younger I was in an accident and my right leg is very thin compared to my left leg (I had a full length plaster on for at least 3 months and a few operations on my right leg and never been able to get my right leg back to be the same as left leg, so to be honest I tend to cheat at leg exercises). When I do the exercise I try and do correct form IE lower slowly and push, pull slowly instead of fast and bounce like some in the gym (infact when I try and do it like them I seem to be able to do more weights)
My question is and your answer will probably be (everything), but…. What am I doing wrong ?
I look weak compared to guys half my size and when increasing my weights does putting on say a 1lb weight really make a difference or should be putting on 5lbs and 10lbs like everyone else ?

With the whole problem with how you look. You can eat whatever you want!!! As long as you are willing to burn it off (Cardio) You should be doing a few hours cardio every week. If you hate running try something different like swimming. Also try to increase your protein intake just slightly.
Simple answer for the leg problem is dont cheat on exercises!! try doing exercises working a leg at a time. Work the weaker leg first and only go as far (reps wise) with your stronger leg as you have with the weaker leg. (If you are stuck for exercises i will gladly give you some just email me!)
Your query with your strength. 1. Don’t worry what others are doing around you focus on what you are doing and set your own goals. It doesn’t matter if your push 10kg or 100kg as long as it is pushing your body it is fine! You are tall like me I am probably about the same height as you, this is a major thing which will effect your strength. Smaller people have smaller sized arms (length) so they do not have as far to push or pull. Your muscles are longer than the shorter people so further to push up. So don’t worry if smaller guys have a hell of a lot more weight than you.
