Glucosamine supplements reduce knee pain in people with cartilage damage and possibly the degenerative joint disease osteoarthritis, concludes research in the British Journal of Sports Medicine [1]. Glucosamine is produced naturally in the body and found primarily in joint cartilage, damage to which often precedes osteoarthritis. The researchers conducted a small trial in which 24 patients with chronic knee pain were prescribed 2000 milligrams a day of glucosamine and a further 22 patients were given “fake” pills.

The patients were all aged between 20 and 70 and regularly suffered knee pain that was severe enough to curtail routine activities. The trial lasted 12 weeks, during which time knee pain and mobility were assessed at regular intervals. Mobility improved over time in both groups of patients, but this happened more quickly in the patients treated with glucosamine, who enjoyed a significant reduction in knee pain after just four short weeks.

By week 12, almost nine out of ten of those given glucosamine said their knee pain had lessened. This compares with only 3 in the group treated with the placebo. The authors conclude that 2000 milligrams of glucosamine daily can provide pain relief and improved mobility in people with chronic knee pain as a result of previous cartilage damage or possibly osteoarthritis.

If you’d like to give glucosamine a try, you’ll find it in Ache Free, our most popular and effective joint protection supplement. Along with glucosamine HCL (more effective than the cheaper and less potent glucosamine sulfate you’ll find in most products), Ache Free contains chrondroitin sulphate. The glucosamine/chrondroitin combination is so effective, it has even been used by the U.S Navy [2]. Following 16-weeks of supplementation, test subjects reported a large reduction in joint pain. Even the normally conservative (when it comes to supplements) American Medical Association recently admitted that the majority of research demonstrated “moderate to large effects” of glucosamine and chrondroitin preparations [3].

Ache Free is a safe and effective way to reduce - or even completely eliminate - nagging joint pain. What’s more, it can also serve to protect your joints (and the tendons, ligaments, and cartilage that make up those joints), making it less likely that you will suffer from a painful and debilitating injury in future. Ache Free is considered by experts to be the leading product of its kind on the market.
