A little-known tip for building bigger triceps PDF Print E-mail

The triceps (the muscles on the back of your arm) are often ignored at the expense of the biceps. However, because the triceps make up the bulk of your arm, building your triceps will do more to make your arms look bigger than having larger biceps.

There are actually three small “heads” that make up your triceps (that’s where the word TRI - which means 3 - comes from). To ensure complete development of your arms, you need to develop all three heads.

However, new research has shown that most exercises ignore one of your triceps “heads”. To correct this imbalance, make sure to include the following exercises in your training program:

1. Triceps Dip
2. Triceps Pressdown (with an angled, not a straight bar)
3. EZ Bar French Press

MRI scans show that these exercises target all three heads of your triceps, ensuring complete development, and giving your arms that much sought-after “horseshoe” appearance.

Fairly new to bodybuilding & I get a little miffed sometimes when you
experienced guys rattle off a load of exercises & I don't have a clue what
they are. Where can I get a list of them & how to do them please!!!! Maybe
there's others out there like me??

Hi Paul

like you being new to body building I also get miffed as what means
what. Personaly i walked into our local book shop and bought a book called the
encyclopedia of body building. Its got about a thousand pages of great stuff, it
only cost about £18. Just try to remember though dont get bogged down this
book is for BODY BUILDERS of which we are not as we are new. Being new to bb
means that you probably wont need half of the excercises these magazines
portray. They are targeted to the medium to experienced b/builder.

You should
concentrate for a while on building core strength before concentrating on
particluar muscle groups. By doing this you will give your body a good basis to
build up muscle. Also remember your joints and bones will need to get used to
lifting heavy weights.

try a two day split doing a total body workout, using
squats, shoulder press flat bench press, or leg press, dead lifts, bicep curls or

Hi Paul,

Same as you and got highly frustrated trying to figure out what was
what, still do!. The best resource I've found is
at:

http://www.exrx.net/Lists/WorkoutMenu.html

You can find specific
exercises or target by body part, each exercise also has a small graphic showing
how it should be done.

Personally I'd also agree with Aaron and stick to the
main compound exercises before even thinking about targeting specifics. Get good
form and flexibility and then build up the weight

cheers
Doug
