How to win world class races at 42 PDF Print E-mail

Paul Evans, top British and World class distance runner, won the British Half Marathon Championships which took place within the Norwich Half Marathon on Sunday 15th June 2003 finishing in a time of 67minutes & 45 seconds at the age of 42 years old! Even running against two Kenyans, known as the best long distance runners in the world, Paul finished just 25 seconds behind one of them, whom won the actual Norwich half marathon, whilst Paul the first Britain to finish, won the British Half Marathon Championships, with the 2nd Kenyan runner finishing 45 seconds behind Paul!

Paul realised that after turning 40 he was constantly up against tough competition from younger runners and was losing his form. He realised that hard work had given him the success to date, but also realised that age, was going against him, making recovery harder and joints and injuries more common. For Paul to compete again at his previous best, he had to sort something out.

Paul had heard many great things about the power of good nutrition and effective supplementation. After doing his research, he decided that Britain’s top sports supplement company Maximuscle, was the company to help him, a relationship formed in 2001, which proved to be one of Paul’s wisest decisions. Maximuscle advises and provides Paul with the best techniques and supplements to dramatically enhance recovery, increase stamina, energy and most importantly make sure that Paul is correctly re-hydrated in all his training and races. Since working with Maximuscle from 2001, a complete change in Paul’s diet and supplementation regime has caused Paul’s performance to take on a whole new dimension, that has shocked and surprised the running world and many of his friends.

Paul Evans Comments: “It was great to be running against the Kenyans in this race, as when they take part, you know you have got a serious race on your hands. Sunday was extremely hot, but after using Maximuscle’s energy drink Viper, to help me re-hydrate before the race and drink whilst in the race I suffered far less from the feeling of de-hydration and tiredness. I felt as if I could run the whole race all over again! I regularly take Viper before long runs and use Recover straight after training, Ache Free and Protrient on a daily basis and Max-meal protein bars to help increase my protein intake. I have noticed that I do not suffer anymore from what runner’s term; Wooden Legs. I feel that having introduced the correct supplement programme, my body has really benefited with my running being taken to a whole new level. To be still competing against some of the best runners in the world, all in their 20’s & 30’s, at 42 feels fantastic. But I only wish that I had got advice on supplements a lot earlier in my career. Before teaming up with Maximuscle, I thought that this was the end of my professional running career. I now feel as if I have been given a new lease of life and am really enjoying my running again. I now say to other runners, gaining the correct training advice and the right supplement regime is the key to a successful long term running career!”

Came 2nd and 3rd in the London Marathon, 2nd and 5th in the New York Marathon and won the Chicago marathon in 1996 with a career best of an amazing 2h 8min and 52secs.
