If you want to add real size to your arms, then focus on building and developing your triceps. PDF Print E-mail

The triceps (the muscles at the back of your upper arm) make up over two-thirds of your arm size. Yet most people neglect their triceps, choosing instead to train their biceps.

Truth is, unless you work your triceps AT LEAST as hard as your biceps, you will never develop large, impressive arms. If you want arms that fill out your t-shirt by the time the summer comes round, now’s the time to start getting serious.

Here’s what to do:

1. Train the arms using basic exercises no more than twice per week (once is often enough for many people).

2. Use basic exercises, such as dips, the close-grip bench press, and tricep extensions (lying or standing).

3. Don’t waste your time with fancy isolation exercises, such as tricep kickbacks.

4. Use a moderate repetition range (6-12 reps) for all exercises. High reps (above 15) and low reps (2-6) make little contribution to muscle growth.
